Meet the Team

Scullface Pty Ltd was founded by filmmakers Michael Facey and Chris Richards-Scully

Founding Partner

Michael Facey

Michael Facey is an award-winning Australian Producer and Executive Producer. His latest feature, Gabriel Carrubba’s coming-of-age drama “SUNFLOWER”, premiered to sold-out audiences at the Sydney and Melbourne International Film Festivals in 2023, with MIFF selling out all screenings in under three minutes. The film screened at every major Australian festival, enjoyed a ten-week theatrical run in 2024, and has been sold to North America, the UK, Germany and France, with more territories forthcoming.

Michael is currently in post-production on “RIVER”, his second collaboration with the “SUNFLOWER” team and writer/director Zane Borg. As a founding partner of ScullFace, and a lifelong horror fan, he is developing a diverse slate of genre projects, including Aaron McCann’s horror/comedy “JONESY” and the neo-western werewolf horror “BULL”.

Michael is a graduate of the Perth School of Art, Design and Media, and holds a Bachelor of Communications from the WA Screen Academy. He has produced numerous award-winning short films that have screened at film festivals worldwide and sold to online platforms.

In addition, he produces Television Commercials and online content for Australian and international advertising clients.

Chris Richards-Scully

Chris Richards-Scully is a Singapore-born, Australian-raised filmmaker with a

unique and varied background. Before pursuing a career in film, he served in elite

police units at both state and national levels, specialising in covert operations. He

draws on this extreme life experience to bring a fresh perspective to his directing.

After graduating from the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), Chris has directed numerous award-winning short films, television commercials,

corporate videos, and online content.

His films often feature high-stakes, crosscultural stories with strong characters and unexpected twists.

Two of his most

notable works are the Twilight Zone-inspired film Iron Bird and the tragic western Kanowna, both of which have screened internationally and received numerous accolades.
